Report written by Nathan Swain
Goodgym Cardiff and Vale headed west to Glan Yr Afon Primary, to paint their school fence ready for the childrens return after half term.
Mikey was first on the scene, had collected all the materials and made a start shaking up the paint. He was quickly joined by Chloe, Charlotte, Lowri and Marie. They waited for Nathan who confirmed the order of painting (red, blue, yellow, green, red, blue...)
Marie looked delighted as she grabbed the green paint (no stereotypes here) and the group cracked on with painting.
Pete was last on the scene, super prepared for the cold weather in his shorts and t-shirt, while the likes of Nathan were layered up with a good 5 layers.
Lowri was first to finish her tin of yellow, but it seems she may have managed to paint more on her hands than she did the fencing. Our advice for the brushes was the chuck them after use as "there's no getting the paint off" - so good luck with those hands Lowri, and hope you enjoy explaining to everyone you haven't developed jaundice.
Tonight was one of those tasks where your running trainers and clothes get spattered in paint, become dedicated GoodGym clothing rather than running gear.
Just as all feeling in everyone's toes and fingers was disappearing the group reached the final railing, serenading Marie as she tidied up the last pole. After a final quick check that we hadn't messed up the pattern anywhere, the group was satisfied with their work and headed home to get their feet on the radiators and thaw out.
