It was a 5 mile round trip to visit to Castle Hill Community Centre this evening with 11 wonderful Ipswich GG ers.

May just have been me, but the 2.5 mile run through the town centre and along Norwich Road seemed to whizz by and we arrived at the Community Centre in no time.

We were, once again, painting in the Centre. this week the room was quite a large conference room and Garath, our host had prepared the area with furniture already moved and dust sheets laid out.

Immediately our merry band set to work with brushes, rollers and pads. Amazingly we managed to complete the whole room in less than 35 minutes and it looked so much better. There was a small hitch in that both Lesley and Nicola ended up with only slightly less paint on their trainers than on the walls; and needed some emergency cleaning before setting off for the return journey.

On our run back we took in the impressive town centre Christmas tree and Town Hall decorations which were unveiled on last week. We also had a group photo by the much maligned modern tree of recent years, which has been moved to the Waterfront this year - right outside our meeting point.

After a few stretches we all headed home feeling Christmassy and panicking about how quickly Christmas is coming!

Next week we return to Castle Hill to complete the room we started tonight.
