23 GG Yorkies ran to Marjorie Waite Court for double task fun!
We welcomed three new runners to GoodGym York tonight, Amy, Georgie and Jaime - give 'em all a big cheer!
The very speedy Paul led the group out for a 3km leg along the river to Marjorie Waite Court, where we were met at the gate by our favourite residents; Pam and Ken.
They wanted us to to line and slate a new patch in the garden, plus add a coat of special green floor paint to the summer house to make it durable and ready for the Yorkshire summer!
As always, the team spring into action and with a 23-strong crew, we completed both tasks in twenty minutes! Pam took no less than 20 group photographs AND presented us with a thank you card for our efforts - so lovely.
With the tasks completed quickly, we had loads of time for extra fitness and managed to bosh out: * walking lunges * high skips * frog jumps * plank walks * reverse lunge walks * squats * star jumps
...and we even managed to squeeze in some bonus step reps before running back along the other side of the river.
Whilst stretching out back at the Premier Inn, Alex acquired an audience in the window. One woman loved the sight of his hamstring stretching so much that she called back all of her friends to have a look - what a heartbreaker he is!
We had a great turnout at the pub tonight and the crew presented me and my new wife Lizzie with an AWESOME handmade GoodGym card. You guys!!
Lovely task, lovely run, lovely bunch of GoodGymers.
