Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a beautiful summers evening the Camden crew set the record for the shortest run to a task by walking 50m's from their base in the Community Centre to Plot Ten.
Plot Ten is a great Community Play Project in Somers Town providing after school and holiday play schemes for local children. They have recently been donated lots of tins of paint to spruce up the playground area but they didn't have the time to splash it round the park. So they called in some expert decorating help...
"We split into two teams and tackled two wooden climbing frames- trying to race each other to complete the job."
We split into two teams and tackled two wooden climbing frames- trying to race each other to complete the job. We had pretty much free rein to paint whatever we liked- and the teams quickly plumped for the brightest possible colour schemes- lurid pink, dark green and eggshell v's Red, Pale yellow and Purple. I'm not much of a decorator but those combinations scream 'Yeeesssss' to me
It was a really fun job- surprisingly therapeutic (if a little messy) and we quickly got the two areas covered.
We then made the 2k dash to Regents Park where we tried something a bit different. Over a measured course of roughly 1k we tried to run a little bit harder- pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone. Following a short rest we then ran back along the same course, attempting to beat the time that we had run on the first effort. Despite the slightly uphill nature of the course we all came pretty close. Sara and Lynsey's gut busting sprint for the line was a particular highlight!

We were still 2k from the Centre so after a short walk to get our breath back we jogged back to Somers Town before the Centre closed for the evening. Nice work all round.
