Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
26 brilliant GoodGymers braved the very cold temperatures to do a flyer drop for Help Age Lambeth and tidy up the basketball court at Papa's - our lovely home
It was the first very cold night of the year and golly were we chilly. After giving Tom Hunter his black T-shirt for 50 good deeds (hooray) we went out and did a lovely warm up on the basketball court.
Once our extremeties were a little warmer, three groups set off to deliver some flyers about staying warm over the winter to nearby houses. A small team stayed behind and started tidying up all of the leaves that were covering the basketball court at Papa's. With some wheelbarrows and buckets we started a production line back and forth to the compost heap, which Alex gallantly stood on top of to keep the leaves squashed down. Some people swept and raked and as groups came back to join in, it turned into a real team effort.
With some runs to the end of the road and back to keep everyone warm, we made the court spick and span before doing some circuits. Alex led a lovely cool down and stretches then we finished the evening with a big Mexican wave and some delicious mince pies baked by Sarah.
What delicious mince pies! Said everyone
Lovely work team!
