It’s pretty simple: tasks can feel overwhelming alone, paperwork builds up and you can’t see the paper for the trees. Cue body doubling, which I was glad to do. We interspersed sorting paperwork with catching up on mine and Mrs P’s lives. She let me know what a mess it seemed her sister’s treatment had been. Rubbish really as her sis has toured the Peckham pubs as an all singing all dancing entertainer, only to have a fall decades later and be somewhat forgotten about. Mrs P was fiercely advocating for her big sis though, and it was pretty inspiring to see. I reckon mostly, a good old vent and someone to listen and have a laugh with was what was needed. Meeting Mrs P really helped me, as I noticed while I’ve been home alone this week, it’s been so much harder to motivate myself to move and stay healthy. But as she reminded me, keep moving and keep your health into your older age. Felt like a bit of a kick up the butt! She offered me a new pair of shoes that didn’t fit her, but when trying them on I figured out the mechanism to loosen them. So happily, they fit her and she kept them! She laughed trying my cycle helmet on, given it was massive for her. So off I went with my big head, helmet, cycling home in the rain, resolving to join a body conditioning class and not skip yoga 😹
