Report written by Pete
Sabina, Tabitha, Liz, Lee and Pete met at Papagayo restaurant at 6.45pm , did some stretches and then ran to spooky Queens Park with Liz leading and Tabitha back-marking, where they were met by Karen and Becky.
They then split into two groups in order to complete two time trial runs around the outside of the park. Lee, Becky, Pete and Sabina took off first, while others in the second group started them off and timed them, waiting at that spot for them to return.
All obstacles were avoided including dog-walkers, broken pavements, large twigs, other joggers, the dark, cyclists, low hung trees, spider's webs, small foraging animals, walkers staring at phones and assorted lamposts ;-)
A very relaxed run ended with them tagging and timing the next group of Liz, Tabitha and Karen who came back round with very creditable times including a super-fast one by Liz.
Time for the second lap; Pete, Becky and Lee headed off, another fun run, this time becoming more competitive towards the end as Pete and Lee stretched their legs Lee storming in with a time of approx 7 minutes and 8 seconds.
Tabitha, Liz and Karen set off again as the others recovered, again completing the lap of approximately a mile in very good times.
The pub and cake beckoned, Karen split for the comfort of home, Sabina led the rest via a new route up chamberlayne road past a nasty car accident back by Milverton Road to Papagayo. Sabina split for home and the rest enjoyed well earned treats (cake), juices, alcohol and scrummy food.
The tradition of the goodgym Brent time trial was preserved until the next time (trial).
