Report written by Catherine
2 runners ran 4km to help Mrs I tidy up her front and back patios, as well as weed the flower beds in the back garden.
Oisin and Cathy were warmly greeted and shown the tools. They quickly donned their gardening gloves and started by filling a bucket & watering can up with water. Armed with brushes we set about scrubbing the front patio. Once all the muck had been removed we used the water to wash it away, leaving it clean and dirt-free.
Mr I made us cups of tea and we sat down to have a chat with Mrs I.
We then moved into the back garden and weeded amongst the strawberry plants, removing a whole bunch of fresh mint that Mrs I said we could take home as she would just throw it away. We divvied this up and gratefully took a big bunch each.
Oisin then tackled the back patio that was covered in moss. Scraping it off and rinsing it down with water.
Mrs I asked us to remove all the old leaves that had blown into her sheltered patio outside the back door so we moved all the furniture out of the way and bagged up the foliage.
Oisin found some fox droppings and made sure these were properly disposed of in the rubbish bin.
We spent about 1 1/2 hours in total and Mrs I was very grateful for the work we'd done so we set off home through the drizzle!
