Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
On the eve of the general election we exercised our democratic right to GoodGym!
With a bit of hustings and puffing we headed off for Chiswick House, this time meeting Conor at the yard. Our mandate for the evening was to clear the area around the imposing entry gates to the park, which had become overgrown with weeds. Our job was to unseat them.
We set about pulling and scraping, clearing and sweeping until the whole area was clear. When it comes to GG versus Weeds, it was clearly a landslide victory.
The popular vote was for fitness, so with Emily and Chris acting as the frontrunners, we headed off to Turnham Green. The focus of the session was on floor based stability and strength. We got ourselves into the right opposition and worked on our core, glutes and arms.
Some of the exercises were a little tough, such as maintaining the bear hold for a full 40 seconds, but no campaign, no gain.
Some of these puns have definitely Laboured the point, but hopefully it worked as a little reminder to vote today if you haven't already!
There are a couple of missions going on this weekend, like this one to help set up for an inclusive community event at Waterman's Park on Saturday. If crabs are more your thing, then why not help out on Chiswick eyot?
Happy Election Day everybody!
