Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
Early wake up call for me. I signed up to a task that I thought I could tackle before work as Mrs. A's house was only a 1k away and the pharmacy was a 1.2k from there. With the mission starting at 08:00, I knew I would be done before 08:30 giving me time to have a shower and breakfast before a 09:00 start for work!
However, you need to read the small print. Mrs. A was expecting me at 08:20 and I did a Google search of Boots in Forest Hill and their opening times stated that they would open at 9! Therefore, I would be late for work. Yet, I could work around that as starting later means finishing later. And my first work call of the day was scheduled for 09:30.
Mrs. A was thankful that I came to pick up her envelope for the pharmacy, but when I arrived at the pharmacy I still had 25 minutes to play with, so I went for a short jog around the neighbourhood. Coming back to the pharmacy at 08:50, there was a pharmacist waiting outside. She told me that the opening times have changed since COVID-19, they are 10:00 - 18:00 (13-14 lunch break). Since I knew I couldn't wait until 10:00, I gave her the envelope and told her I'll be back during my lunch break to pick up the prescription! Off I went sprinting back home to ensure I wasn't too late for work. Only 10 minutes late...
