Mrs J was in a bit of a state when I visited beacuse her cat had just brought a dead pigeon into the house and the sitting room was full of feathers. I swept up all the mess and disposed of it for her as the cat lay down in front of me, asking to be stroked! Looking very innocent. She had often told me that her cat was rather a prolific hunter, and here was the evidence! I reassured Mrs J that it wouldn't put me off visiting in the future!
