Pigging out with GoodGym
24 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.
- Monday, 25th of July 2016
- Led by Laura Williams
It was a bumper crop of 25 goodgymers who turned out for a classic Tower Hamlets run to Stepney City Farm.
The animals were out in full force as we arrived ready for the usual farm task of shovelling compost. The cute pigs, suspicious goats and excited sheep were a delight. This week, farmer Simon also got a few more people to "aerate" the grass with pitch forks, causing more than a few quizzical looks from passer bys and the compost movers to suspect they had chosen a much harder job!
We ended another happy evening at the farm with a run back to base along the canal in two different groups to cater for everyone's abilities. Of course this included powering up the Mile End Park hill.
A great evening and well done to all the new participants!
