SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Brahma Pochee
A merry ten of us united last night, the sky had unleashed its rainy fury the day before, so we were running under blue skies and a glowing sun. After mincing around in Italy, I was happy to be back, catching up with the team and legging it around Newham's waterways. Had the pleasure of going on my first run with Tori, her second session on the trot. Also got to hear about Kev, Sharon and Justin's Half Marathon exploits. Another run ticked off for J, but Kev and Sharon completed their first ever 13.1 mile effort - hats doffed! There's much more to come from these guys. We also undemocratically dished out the Social Sec role to Graham, as Justin put it "he'll be good, he once organised a beer after the session". We agreed, that was that - reckon he'll make it his own. There are a few more Task Force roles I'll be talking to you guys about . Simply, we can be more effective with more people involved.
We covered the 2miles to Cody Dock as one, more or less. The pizza oven was a roaring inferno on arrival - as we asked to use it for a pizza and beer post run social. BUT FIRST - we had work to do. Using hydraulic forklifts to move large planters. Rearranging them to allow access to the boat behind. There was also some other bits and bobs, moving some railings and a fair amount of watering, Kassie firmly made this her role. After about 30mins - we were all done.
We gathered around the pizza oven, I did my best imitation of an Italian chef. We had mouthwatering wood-fired pizza, from an outdoor oven, in a kooky and stunning East London Garden. We do alright.
Thanks for your company yesterday team, had a top evening. An easyish task and run, enjoy it while it lasts!
