After a quick intro, all the news (above) and an active warm up we were gone - it's one mile to Skip Garden , we cut through Granary Square, past the Dishoom line and bang we were there.
Skip Garden is an amazing place - here is a bit about the charity Global Generation who run it; founded in 2004, it's an educational charity, which works together with local children and young people, businesses, residents and families in Camden, Islington and Southwark to create healthy, integrated and environmentally responsible communities.
Frances and the Tall Guys - new band!
Gwen set us to work, our tasks this week were:
One of the garden staff said it would have taken them over a day to do what we did in 15 minutes - smashed it!
Gwen then gave a wonderful speech about Skip Garden and Global Generation. We felt informed and certainly GOOD about what we'd achieved.
Next for fitness
We headed to Granary Square, played the high knees game and then enjoyed a lovely run along the canal at an easy pace. Wonderful evening in all - thanks to all for coming.
Next week we are off to Kentish Town City Farm - sign up here. We'll be meeting at Somers Town Community Centre (old meeting point) next week for one week only.
PB out.
