Playing the Trump Card
6 GoodGymers made their way 5km to help the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust in York.

6 GG Yorkies braved the cold and ran* to Hartrigg Oaks residential home to visit the older residents. We split into two groups:
Mel and I stayed on the “Gentlemen’s Table” where we conversed with John, Dennis and Morris. The conversation often changed topics and, among other things, we talked about growing up, Scotland and what on earth GoodGym actually is! Whatever the topic, they had so many interesting things to say.
Lizzie, Ed, Becki and Jo played card games with the residents on the other table. Whilst I couldn’t see specifically what game people were playing, it was obvious everyone was having a blast. I did receive information from an anonymous source that one of our GoodGymers may have been cheating; however that isn't the GG way so I don't believe it! I also heard the gambling was involved…although I don't think real money was used as one resident stated:
I don’t think they’ll accept this money in Tesco’s
After the hour, which flew by, it was time to say goodbye. Many thanks to Tracey, the carers and all the residents for this evening!
*(except Ed; he did drive from Hadrian’s Wall so I guess we can forgive him!)
