Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

On Tuesday, 14 enthusiastic runners set off from The Folk House to run to Easton Community Garden. It was a great start for several newcomers to Good Gym (welcome, guys!). Our run was mostly off road as we had the pleasure of using the Bristol to Bath path, and after about 25 minutes, we rocked up to the garden, where we were given several tasks including weeding, chopping up wood, and shifting a large amount of manure!

The time flew by, and almost all the work was completed about 40 minutes later. We gained an extra volunteer in the shape of a bold robin, who was clearly very keen to see the pile of sticks whittled down to reveal grubs underneath. He didn’t really help that much, but did provide moral support and was very cute. It was a great location, lush and leafy, green and welcoming.

Sadly, our time at the community garden was all too short, and we headed back in to central Bristol. Our leisurely, chilled pace became more frenetic as we had a ‘run as fast as you can’ challenge half way back, and the pack split up a little before coming back together to complete the run. Once back at the Folk House Good Gym PT Pru led us through a well needed stretch in the evening sun before heading home for a well-earned dinner.
