Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicola Marshall
It was great to be back at Flag Lane Baths this evening. We've been working on this project on and off for the past couple of years, ever since it was awarded planning permission to be turned into a thriving Community Space. Sadly, as it's been lying derelict, it has been prone to lots of litter being dumped there and being used as a place for people to gather with alcohol etc. It's been in constant need of TLC.
Tonight we got stuck in trying to tidy the area up ready for the annual family fun day that takes place every year during August and is happening this coming weekend.
Before we got our hands dirty though, we did our weekly Goodgym run.... this week covering a fantastic 3.5K on a circular route to the park and back. Emily, Karen, Nigel & Maurice had a good natter as they went, all while running at a great pace!!
Back at the baths, it was time to get stuck into the task! Armed with brushes, hoes and bin-bags, we set to work in clearing the area. It was a sticky night and with quite a physical task and after our run as well, it's fair to say that we felt pretty hot and tired!! (sign of a great Goodgym task!).
It was really nice to be joined by other members of the community who also got stuck in to help... Crewe Clean Team & The Lighthouse Centre
The difference after we'd all got stuck in was amazing!!! As we often say, many hands make light work...
Well done everyone!!! Another productive night in the community, doing good and keeping fit!! You're all amazing!!!
Until next time.... Xx
