Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by York runner
I collected Mr R's shopping bag and list from his doorstep to find that there was no cash. I called him from my car and he apologised as he'd forgotten! I left the envelope back on the doorstep and Mr R put the crisp new £20 note into it. Once he'd closed the door I picked it up and was on my way to his Co-op of choice (not the nearest but at least I knew where it was). After a short wait outside the store I managed to find almost all of Mr R's items. I'm not completely sure I got the exact things he had in mind (small potatoes - bagged; does this mean a small bag or small potatoes)? I went with the latter but to be fair it was a smallish bag anyway so a win on both counts I feel! The beef platter and dumpling ready meal couldn't be found but the helpful staff member pointed me towards a ready meal of beef stew and dumplings which we felt was probably a good compromise. Pork chops were substituted for lamb chops as that's all they had, and apart from tinned peaches I managed to get the rest of Mr R's list as the store was pretty well stocked. The shopping was safely delivered and Mr R knocked on his window to acknowledge the delivery and I was on my way home, only turning back after a few minutes as I'd left Mr R's Co-op card in my pocket!

Glad to see that Mr R got the rest of his shopping. I couldn't do it all on Saturday because it went over budget.
