Report written by Huw Davies
This week's challenge was to take a picture on a solo run, with one condition...the picture could feature no people! Some people love running solo, some prefer to be part of a group but there is plenty of beautiful scenery to admire when you are out and about on your own with no distractions.
Mel and Dave have been out and about around various stretches of water, Lisette made GoodGym's mark on Whistle Way in Narborough. Abul and Jimmy captured the beauty of spring with some beautiful floral snaps. Michaela showed the kindness being spread around the community right now with a chalked pavement message and GG Coventry Trainer Liz took a loop around the perimeter road.
Vic from GG Coventry joined in with some lovely snaps of the Derbyshire canals where she is currently based and Tracey from GG Derby joined Abul and Jimmy with some flowers and also a picture of a portaloo at which point she got Abba's Waterloo stuck in her head for the rest of her run! Obviously some clever soul has already adapted Waterloo, here is Portaloo.
On my solo run I chose to think about how lucky we are to still have running to keep us sane, heading past the deserted cricket, bowls and tennis clubs, past the school football pitches, over the empty golf course and up to the pool at the gym. Next time you pop your running shoes on and head out on the streets, be grateful we can still do what we love when so much has been taken away from us!
Stay safe, HD
PS Any more entries I'll add into the report as I get them.
