S snd J each had prescriptions to pick up, so off I headed to Boots in Lewins Mead, central BRISTOL, to join the queue. I was only six people back in the outside queue but it an hour before I reached the front hatch in the store. The lovely pharmacist had no record of J and hadn’t dispensed for S since 2018...

A quick call and J confirms it’s Lewins Mead whilst I can hear in the background S shouting “no, it’s Avon Mead” - only a couple of miles away, but a world away in pharmacy queues!

Off I trot to Avon Mead Boots which is open as a store as well as a pharmacy, hair dye in the hands of every shopper leaving the controlled doors.

I reach the front of the pharmacy queue, they have J’s prescriptions ready but S’s isn’t yet dispensed so I pop outside for ten minutes, offend everyone queuing by being let back in, and finally pick up the prescriptions. In the meantime, though, I’ve managed to get the two sweetheart and one white cabbages that Lidl hadn’t had earlier 😁
