Report written by Kate Haworth
‘Twas the night before the bonfire was lit and all through the shop many Goodgym creatures were stirring with decorations to hang!
Goodgym Richmond was invited into Whole Foods after hours this Sunday evening for a community mission to help them Dec the halls. It was great to give back to the good people of Whole Foods as a ‘thank you’ for offering us a meeting place every Monday evening with a safe place to store our things during our group runs and providing us with drinks of water which was a great treat during the hot summer runs.
As runners arrived and the decorations were brought out we were given instructions of the tasks that needed to get done to begin the decorating. We began by cleaning the glass around the café area to get set for some Christmas sparkle! Next some wire was cut and distributed to be threaded through the metal posts between the glass. Garlands were swooping and looping along the glass before long and Goodgymers were called over to the opposite corner of the shop for some laddering up in the health and beauty department. With little time for hanging around, more garlands were wired above our heads with a few Goodgymers standing by to supervise and instruct from below. We were happy to help spruce things up and thought it was looking pretty pine by the time we were ready to run off in different directions again.
Yule be fir-st to have a Wholey Christmas and we were happy to help!
Welcome and well done Jaqueline on your first Good Deed! And great to see Mollie from Ealing and Chi trekking over from the other side of London join us for some festive spirit. And thank you Kate for an awesome run report.
