It was great to see Ruth back at GoodGym again. She and I met Rebecca from the Baby Bank, who gave us a briefing about the Covid-19 safety measures in place, whilst also juggling about 15 other things - she is a master in multi-tasking, and necessarily so, since the Baby bank is busier than ever!

Rebecca then set us to work on our job for the morning: marrying up lidless storage boxes with box-less lids, in order to declutter the storage space so the charity can continue providing essentials to vulnerable families as efficiently as possible.

While we played our matching game, other Baby Bank volunteers were busy gathering together items to go out to families, and sorting the hundreds of Christmas pyjama and book parcels that have been donated over the past month.

Once we had exhausted the matching lids and boxes, Amy had to bid farewell, but Ruth stayed and joined the Christmas gift sorting operation.

There are plenty more opportunities to help the Baby Bank in the coming weeks. Hope to see you there!

Providing essentials to families in extreme need

The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
