Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Its amazing what you can get done when you put your mind to something…

Our task for this fine evening was to head back over to Morpeth School and continue with what has been named GoodGyms Garden. A space that was once used for something entirely different is now a space for growing goodies. Goodies being healthy food to help sustain life on this planet or for now HACKNEY.

We arrived safely after a steady jog and I asked all the GoodGymers to applaud Rizwana as she had been home from work, put her feet up and specifically came back out of her house, just for us. We all know that we are out here doing good, but without people such as these all the magical tasks that we do wouldn’t exist.

Anyhow, we were shown the space and shown the tools. It was simple, where there were weeds, roots, bushes shrubs that shouldn’t have been there….Get rid of them. You have 40minutes startingggggggg NOW….

As usual we had our resident strong arm with us the lovely Kathryn who makes it her business to be ready for root removal, after the rest of us have done all the hard work and loosened them she flies in and finishes the job lol.

Another shout out must go to the equally strong Lauren returning from her European Marathon travels who managed to try and remove a root with such vigor she managed to snap the fork in two. A word of warning to you all, know your own strength.

40 minutes flew by after a number of discussions around current affairs, the importance of trending hashtags and the line that divides the North and South of the UK…. This is why I love these guys and gals, never a dull moment.

We said our goodbyes and began our journey. HASHTAGHOMEWARDBOUND

I asked a simple question do we want the long or the short way home. They said long… Lets just say when we arrived back after a number of intervals, sprints in the now pouring rain they wished they said short lol…

A truly memorable enjoyable evening with the Hackney Crew…. Thankyou for your time…. And please…. Pleaseeeee… continue to do small things with great love……. DROPS MIC….
