Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mridula Iyer
This beautiful June day JC and I arrived to Mr C's house to move a bed. Alas Mr. C was in hospital and thus began the first mission where JC and I were to go into an unoccupied home. Both JC and I were a bit nervous, but a couple of phone calls to the referrers allayed our fears and and off we went.
After doing our best pink panther impressions of walking through the door, we made our way to Mr. C's bedroom. JC travels with a mobile toolbox though, like any good goodgym Macguvyer and I bought the greatest tool in my arsenal, which was a sense of humour. The former helped us complete the task and the latter was about as useful as a sweater in today's weather. He made light work of removing the bolts and the slats and we put the dismantled bed outside the flat.
The flat was on the first floor and I suggested carrying the pieces down. JC again, being the brains and brawn of this operation (and I provided emotional support), suggested he just handed me the pieces from the first floor balcony down. We made swift work of a task and JC probably spent more time directing me towards London Bridge that we did with the task!
Another day, another mission! Stay safe goodgymmers!
