We all turned up eager to show our knowledge and hoping to win. Charlotte came with a group of friends and formed her 'Charlotte and friends' team. Katie Walsh joined forces with her parents and they promised us they didn't know the answers. The rest of us Goodgymmers formed team 'Quizzy rascal' . Before the quiz began we had time to get a drink and buy our raffle tickets.
There were 7 fun filled rounds to follow. Highlights included the picture round with various images of chicken products from fast food chains where we had to name the product and restaurant... Lydia came up with a whole array of ideas including 'chicken squits' from Chippy Lane. There was a Disney intros round which team Charlotte smashed with 20/20. This was not Emma Wilkins preferred round of the night. For fans of all things Hogwarts there was a Harry Potter round... Lydia and i having never read the books concluded this was not going to be our round to contribute much help. Team Charlotte however knew it all! Nanograms, Fact or Fake News and General Knowledge made up some of the other rounds.
At the end the scores were counted and verified and the victors were..Team Charlotte with 75.5 points- well done guys. A prize of a multipack of crisps was also given to the third place team.
During the night, the very exciting raffle was drawn and lots of wonderful prizes given away. Rachel informed that the majority of Whitchurch high street donated a prize to the good cause. The GoodGym folks who had bought raffle tickets did very well with.... Charlotte, Darren, Emma Wilkins, Emma Double-barrell, Lowri and Nathan all winning.. Well done guys!
With the fun and games over it was time to thank Rachel and say our goodbyes. So far, the night raised over £170 for Latch and goes towards Rachel's 10 things for 10 years overall total. Having been at 3 of her events so far, I for one am looking forward to the next. I hear it is to be a PLAYATHON with 10 hours of continuous live music - watch this space for more information. Thank you for organizing such a great event and congratulations on your total so far Rachel :)
