A bit from Patricia: All the runners were so up for it! When they arrived at the 'Wall of Fame', where I was marshalling, they were covered in mud, some more than others. There were smiles all round and so much camaraderie, cheering each other on. It was a fantastic day for everyone, and I throughly enjoyed marshalling and cheering everyone on.
A bit from Jane: On our arrival at the Volunteers tent, Jane and Jeff were quickly dispatched to an obstacle going by the name of Vertigo! Basically a cargo net stretched over an A frame in two sizes. A smaller version for the kiddies and a larger one for the adults. A variety of styles were employed by participants to get over. Some pretty spectacular! Marshalling was more about encouragement than anything else. Great fun was had by all and Jane couldn’t resist having a go herself at the end.
A bit from Elizabeth: It was super to be part of such an inspiring event. The sun shone on hundreds of participants who enthusiastically set off all in pristine pink and after tackling some amazing obstacles were just as enthusiastic as arrived at the finish line all in pretty uniform muddy-brown. From the speedy children who first clambered over the course through to the walkers who equally put in the effort everyone wore smiles and there was a real sense of purpose. Many runners were remembering loved ones but it did feel a celebration of life and positivity x
Well done Marshall Team!
