Friday 14th June

Gwyn and Tracey toddled over to Elvaston Cricket Club to help serve tea and coffee to participants in the DCF T20 Walkathon, raising money for, and awareness of, the Bob Willis Fund and Prostate Cancer UK.
Although we welcomed and chatted to lots of friendly (though rather damp) walkers at the 15-mile point on their 20-mile route, we only served a single cup of tea! For some reason, the participants preferred slightly stronger beverages... We did, however, get the chance to empty the dishwasher and replenish the paper towel supply in the gents, before purchasing one of the stronger beverages ourselves to take home.
Elvaston Cricket Club is celebrating its 175th anniversary with a special T20 match on 12th July. Hospitality tickets are selling fast, so snap up yours while they are still available (details on one of the photographs). On the subject of T20, we hope that all the Walkathon participants and supporters enjoyed the evening's T20 match whilst it lasted. Nice weather for Duckworths!
