First me and Ms N put the world to rights over a cup of tea. This was perhaps more impactful for the both of us than the raking and sweeping I did in the garden. We reminisced about trips to Jamaica and the beautiful hydrangeas that grow both in the forests there, but also Ms N’s back garden. We shared our exercise regimes - hers tai chi and strength and conditioning, mine hiit and yoga. Turns out we’re both keeping active to keep our achey lower backs from whingeing at us! She was twice my age, but so much in common nonetheless on this front! We concluded the grass was too wet to mow, so I raked it clear of leave and debris, cut back brambles and plants. I brushed the leaves from the front that had fallen from the trees in the street. Cheekily we both agreed I could sweep the leaves onto the street as the council put the trees there and it’s their responsibility to collect the leaves when they fall - full circle accountability! Ms N wished me a pleasant day going for lunch with my friend, and said she often gets lunch with friends nearby too - although sadly she’s lost a few friends lately as they’ve passed away and this has been a heartbreak for her. Reminded me to treasure mine. I thoroughly enjoyed our connection and this reminder. Plus, we surmised we are both born in March, and March people are kind. Ms N enjoyed the idea that Goodgym good karma came back to her, as she helps a friend with poor sight to run her errands and read her letters. So in effect, Ms N is also a Goodgymmer in spirit, just without the tshirt. Hopefully we can return to mow once the weather allows!
