GoodGym Bath headed back to one of favourite haunts for the first time in 2021, for some winter maintenance work in the orchard at Bath Organic Group.

On a dry, chilly Sunday morning, 4 of us joined Tim to get stuck in:

  • Raking the area to clear sticks left over from tree pruning and some willow weaving;
  • Wheelbarrowing those over to the edge of the site to add to a hedge to help seclude the plot from the adjacent main road;
  • Scything the grassy areas around the trees ; and
  • Sam filled up a wheelbarrow with plastic litter which definitely didn't look organic, and had presumably blown or been chucked over on to the site.

We even took the opportunity at the end of the task to clear and spruce up the path we'd laid on an earlier task back in the summer.

As always, to finish up Tim treated us to some home-produced apple juice.
