Report written by Paul Salman
Twelve terrific goodgym runners ran to support Stephens House and gardens. After a forecast of rain it turned out to be a dry mild night for a run. Gathering at the Phoenix we chatted about the ‘Big event’ and took a quick pole. Yes it was a landslide - almost everyone was coming to the Christmas party! We said hello to new runner Mia ..Give her a cheer! Mia We did a quick warm up and set off on our usual back street route through East Finchley and repeated the time honoured routine of a bridge squat ( this can only be done in barnet!) and the LLP sprint ( again unique to Barnet). We met Peter the head gardener and he let us into the gardens. (Thank you Peter and for maintaining these wonderful gardens) We were tasked with raking leaves on the main lawn and transporting them to mulch under the trees. When we had finished we had time to do a short experimental paired circuit. This consisted of skipped Do-si-Do ( need to work on timing and coordination guys) then paired exercises to music. We then ran up the hill and completed a yoga breathing exercise to re energise for the two kilometres home.
Thanks for coming running and doing some good!
