Lovely sunny walk up to JJ today. I found JJ in an upbeat mood feeling grateful for how well looked after she is, from the people coming in to make lunch, to her family for keeping a careful eye on her and for Age UK providing people to call and visit just to chat. Conversation turned to times gone by when people weren’t so healthy in later years before the NHS. JJ remembered needing some teeth out as a child, the kitchen table was scrubbed down so she could lay down on it while the teeth were removed by someone who came to the house, goodness knows what their qualifications were to do the job…eek 😬 My walk home was interesting as a lady came up to me asking if I could help her get into her house, I asked her if her neighbours had a key but she said they were new neighbours and she didn’t know them, she seemed very confused so I walked back to her house with her, luckily we walked by a house where someone knew her, he came out to see what was going on and he asked her if Amanda next door had a key. It turned out the neighbour did have a key, clearly knew her and was very caring with her so I left them to it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
