For today's mission Lici and Becki braved the early morning downpour to help out Mrs L by changing a lightbulb for her in the bathroom.

As Mrs L is partially sighted with some mobility issues she was unable to get up the ladder to take the shade of the lightbulb that hadn't been working for some time.

After introducing us to her 3 friendly cats, we had a good 10 minute rummage through a huge box of tools and managed to find the right screwdriver to do the job. The next challenge was trying to get the extractor fan to turn off as it was vibrating the lampshade making it particularly difficult to unscrew whilst stood on a ladder!

We took it in turns, with one person standing on the ladder Mrs L provided to unscrew the shade and one person holding up a torch to ensure the other could see what they were doing. After 20 minutes of ladder yoga (so many backbends!) we managed to get the thing off to reveal the ancient lightbulb inside. As it was quite an odd one and Mrs L didn't have a replacement, Becki wrote all the details down on a piece of paper and checked that it was available on Amazon so that Mrs L could order a new one herself. Lici taped the screws to the underside of the shade so they wouldn't get lost for when the replacement is bought.

Mrs L was very grateful that we'd come so early on a Sunday morning and hoped to see us again soon! 💡💡💡
