This lunchtime Judy, Jo and Val headed just off the island to help Cancer Research pack down their equipment after hosting a 24 hour relay. We arrived just in time to see the final lap being walked by everyone before they stopped at 1200. Awards were presented and the final donation target was announced.

Once the event had closed and competitors were packing up, we were set to work. Judy dismantled the flags and started removing the signage that was up. Val and Jo un-pegged the course tape and gathered it up into large balls. Once tape and pegs were retrieved we tackled the dismantling of gazebos. These are definitely easier than assembling. We finished our tasks quickly and were awarded with an ice cream from the resident ice cream van. Jayne was very thankful of our assistance and I’m sure we’ll be back there next year to help out.
