Here's what Ms E of SW2 had to say about the mission:
Hi Thank you so much for your hard work. I just spoke with Mrs E and she is so happy and grateful that she can now enjoy her garden and sit outside. What an amazing job you have done, it looks great. So, thanks again. Kind regards, Hazel
Ms E hated spending time in her garden due to how overgrown the weeds were. She’s got a bad back and can’t do much gardening herself so needed a bit of help sorting it out.
She admitted she wasn’t sure which plants were intentional and which were weeds so I had a scout round and decided to start with the back of the garden which was largely shaded, and massively overgrown with herb robert, which is a weed that grows very thickly. This ended up taking most of my time because it was so dense! I even managed to discover a pathway to the back of the garden underneath it all. Ms E was keen to sit in the garden and help so she pulled up a chair and bagged up some of the weeds while I was throwing more onto the pile.
I then went up and down the sides of the garden, pulling up as many weeds as possible and chucking on the big pile. The pile of weeds was so large by the end, we were never going to be able to bag it up but Ms E said she would do it gradually over the next few days or weeks. It was great to hear that she’s now planning to spend time in her garden when she was afraid of it before!
