11 kickass runners ran 2km to tidy and sort clothes at the GBC Hospice Charity Shop!

Well it was the final group run of 2016 sob but everyone managed to hold back the tears to do a cracking job!

We were joined by one new runner, Tom, Vickie's boyfriend. Thanks for bringing him along! It was lovely to meet you and hopefully you'll be back again in the new year :D

It was a poor effort on my part to make things festive, but luckily some people clearly do read my emails and we had a good set of Christmas hats and jumpers amongst the group! Nice one! I had the Christmassy tunes blasting though of course so hopefully that made up for it haha.

It burns!

We did a little warm up consisting of a few basic drills and a couple of booty burners to get the glutes activated. Once everyone was warm and glutes suitably on fire, we got going! The run was a short one last night as the charity shop was just down the road in Greenwich so we went straight there. We were greeted by the lovely Jane who explained the task. We split into a few groups, so Izzy, Suzanne and Rachel went to the backroom to do some clothes tagging, whilst Tom, Vicky, Amy & Elliot took the clothes off the rails which were past a certain date, and Ben, Alex & Amy did some cleaning of shelves and windows etc!

Where's the hoover man?

Sadly our resident hooverer Christian chose not to grace us with his presence last night, and even the ladies at the shop said "the hoover man isn't here!" so Alex had to step in and did just as good a job!

After half an hour, the shop was looking amazing. Super tidy, and super clean! Izzy even made a dash for the cashpoint to make a purchase! Nice one!

Purchases complete and we said our goodbyes and Merry Christmases and Jane even gave us a box of Quality Street to thank us for all the work we have done over the past few months! So sweet! (no pun intended, for once)

We ran back to do the fitness session which was going to be quite long and brutal... but it was the last one, I had to make you guys work! So we did the 12 days of Christmas. So firstly we had a 20 second plank, then we had 2 sprints followed by a 20 second plank, then 3 burpees, 2 sprints, a 20 second plank... and so on until we got all the way up to 12 high knees, 11 star jumps etc etc. THESE GUYS DID AMAZING. Everyone absolutely smashed it so really well done, it was not easy at all.

We did a little cooldown stretch and went back for some Greenwich Goodies in the form of mince pies, stollen (which Amy & Elliot kindly brought along!) and Quality Street from Jane........... and that concluded the last GG of 2016 :)

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP THIS YEAR!!! It has been an absolute pleasure running with you guys, you're such a lovely bunch and I genuinely look forward to seeing you every week! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I will see you back in January on Wednesday 4th! Lots of love xxxxx
