Following a late cancellation a few days prior, Goodgym arrived at Mrs P's house in the form of Sean. She showed him the paving. It was in the grip of tentacles of weeds. The weeding needed to be completed asap because a concrete filling was booked for two days time.

Better crack on then!

Sean set about pulling up the lengthier weeds from the perimeter of every paving slab. After sweeping up the resulting mess, the paving looked a whole lot better.

An offer of a cuppa and biscuits was gladly taken up. There was little shade from the hot sunshine so a break was needed. Mrs P was lovely to chat to. Withholding detail, it was clear life had put Mrs P through the ringer the last few years.

Refreshed, it was time to tackle a tremendously tedious task. Armed with the weeding fork, and fortified with determination to get it done, Sean began to painstakingly weadle the weed roots from every gap in the paving. Using a lever motion, some roots were satisfyingly fully removed. But there were many more stubborn roots that required a lot of persuasion with the fork. The gloves came off for the most resolute roots to be plucked out one by one.

Mrs P remarked on the huge difference Sean's work had made to the paving.

An additional request to weed the slate covered beds was accepted and completed. The task had run far into extra time, but finally, it was time to sweep up and leave.
