Rooting out the shades - Winter sun fun
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 17th of February 2018
After weeks of cold, I've splitting winds & a cold, three lovey Goodgymmers ventured forth in sunnier conditions to assist Mrs F in claiming back her garden which had over grown.
We were greeted with the most warming welcome from Mrs F (whom at a previous task I had helped with her front garden) whom briefed us on what was the task/s athe hand & a small flora & fawne lesson.
Monica & myself got to the work on the pesky weeds & over grown coarse grass whilst Mary got to the Root of the problem - dealing with more deep roots with pitch fork at hand.
Before we knew it was time to back up tools & bag our prizes of compost, I had done a small task of swapping a dying plant for a very resilient olive tree
In under 2 hours, the garden had taken on massive change bringing such a beaming glow of happiness to Mrs F whom offered to feed the whole of Goodgym (Italian heritage means fuller bellies) but we may just get a receipe as itll be a tight squeeze with all 1000s of us
