Report written by Amy L (she/her)
Huge kudos to the team of hardy GoodGymers who joined me on this evening's session! We were meant to be painting at the Lawns Nursery School, but our task was rained off, so we opted for a litter pick instead.
Thanks to Councillor Helen Price for suggesting where we should focus our efforts. Thanks to Steve for walk-leading me, Sophie and Jess down Smiths Lane and thanks to Sula and Nic, who led Sheila and Georgeta down Vale Road and the Maidenhead Road. We converged around Sawyer's Close, where we agreed bags were getting very heavy, fingers and toes were freezing and it was time to head back.
Back at the car park Sheila rewarded us with some wonderful homemade raspberry muffins. It was too cold to linger and enjoy them together so we took them home with us. I'm munching my second now as I type. Thanks Sheila!
In summary, the weather was rubbish, the task was litter-ally rubbish, but it was muffin we couldn't handle.
