Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tuesday's run saw a large group of runners including new girl Ellie swanning southwards to bountiful Bedminster where we met the perky Patchwork people next to a phone box that had 'Jason Statham' written on the side. Odd. But given it was Bedminster, possibly not that odd.
Our task was to litter pick the small patch of ground by the phone box, prune some of the trees and weed some of the area too, however some kind soul had recently gone around litter picking and so saved us a lot of work!
The litter picking crew moved on to another patch, and were shortly joined by the pruners and the weeders, however it didn't take long to clear that area too. We're just too good, GoodGym Bristol. The makings of a very small meal were found - a baguette and a potato!
As we'd run out of stuff to do to help the Patchwork Project, we decided to run. We ran to the site of several past visits - a small patch of land that was once covered in gravel. Over the summer we'd spent time clearing the gravel (with just bare hands most of the time) and once it was clear, planting bulbs. Now was the time to check on those bulbs. They were just starting to poke up through the soil, and hopefully will soon brighten up a suburban street with a splash of floral colour.
We then ran on to a patch of grass in front of Bedminster Job Centre where we'd also planted a lot of bulbs, and likewise, the promise of spring bloom was present with lots of green leaves popping up through the grass.
Our tiny tour of past triumphs over, we tootled back to base where we arrived in good time for stretching.
Gang, sorry that this was a bit of a 'patchwork' (blame Matt for that pun) of a run but we still did good and got to look back on past goodness that we've achieved! Good work everyone!!!!
