As the mercury touched 30 degrees centigrade, six of Goodgym's finest (and now sweatiest) runners met to do good in Redbridge and ran 4.6km in the process.

With the temperature still high, despite the 6:45pm timing, the group assembled at Wanstead House Community Association to help with the upkeep of the place we call home. Over the past two years, Goodgym Redbridge has painted the exterior fence - inside and out - and generally kept the grounds in good order. This year we will be helping to restore the ironwork around the House and bring it back to its former glory. Well, at least make it look less rusty.

After a short briefing and new member Maja welcomed for her first run, the squad soon set to work wire brushing the gates that mark the entrance to the car park and the House itself. With several coats of paint cover the gates, it was hard work and soon the team were working up quite a sweat. 40 minutes of bicep-building work later, tools were downed and Team Redbridge set out for a 40 minute run around Eagle Pond.

Great to see Francis and ? from Goodgym Wandsworth and to hear about all their racing plans this year. Hope to see you guys again soon.

Next week we head to Forest Recycling to grab some paint to put on these gates. Why not join us?
