17 GGers ran 4km, sanded tables & chairs for St Luke's and got FITTER
Last night was my first time leading GG Islington as your Trainer, it is fantastic to lead such a wonderful group and do good in an amazing area. Looking forward to our weeks and months ahead of running, punning, funning and gooding!
New to GoodGym this week - Noel, Julia, Chris, Cinzia and Gabriella - boom! Lovely to have you along!
Bit of news for you:
Right onto to last night, after a quick intro and warming up in the park close by we headed south via the canal to St Luke's Community Centre. This amazing centre provides services for both older and younger people and has a tasty cafe too.
Our task was to look after some of the outdoor furniture, which desperately needed some maintenance. In particular a group of 2 tables and 8 chairs that belong to the Over-55 Group and that definitely would benefit from being sanded and oiled to avoid rotting. We got to work.
Against the grain!
Three stages of work:
In 30 minutes we made the furniture look brand new - lovely jubbly! AND of course ate biscuits... mmm digestives.
On our way home we headed via Shoreditch Park for a quick fitness session, we first did some shuttle runs between laposts and then onto a conditioning game with squats, star jumps, lunges, SQUAT-JUMPS and an impromtu plank competition (thanks Aidan). Yum!
Until next week team, more details of tasks coming your way soon - sign up here.
PB out.
