7 GG Islington regulars logged in for our weekly post parkrun style Saturday morning coffee meet-up via Zoom, on a surprisingly chilly April morning.
The main theme of our conversation seemed to revolve around baking tips and tricks, inspired by James' birthday presents (Happy Birthday!)- one of these being a lovely Tartine Bread cookbook. He was planning on trying out some Wild Garlic bread (using herbs picked from Abney Cemetery Gardens), Frances baked a delicious cheesecake earlier this week and Kike asked our team for ideas for her upcoming Islington cycling club bake-off (judged virtually by club members!). Graham even cycled all the way to St Albans Sainsburys to pick up eggs- that's some commitment to baking!
We also had a chat about plants and gardening activities- Trainer Simon is making progress with his greenhouse spinach and broccoli plants, Steve Coman sadly had his tomato plants stolen from his front garden (keep your eyes peeled, Islington folks!) and Graham has prepared some basil and herbs planters on his windowsill, making the most of the fine weather.
Just before the Zoom meeting was abruptly closed down (back to 40 minutes again!), we did the count-off and asked our crew: "Do you have any running or fitness objectives for when the Covid restrictions are lifted?"
The answers were as follows:
It is always great to catch up, and we'll be looking forward to seeing you again next week!
Same time (Saturday 10am). Same place (your home). Stay safe!
