Screwing always helps
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Sunday, 3rd of April 2016
On Sunday afternoon, three seasoned GoodGymers met in South London on a mission to assemble some furniture for Ms P.
On the short walk over there from our earlier mission, Patrick and I discussed what a quick job it would be
A table and two chairs between three of us? We'll have it done in no time.
Little did we know that the instructions weren't particularly clear or helpful and whoever had taken out the pieces required for two of the chairs had clearly nabbed some crucial bits for us. Deciding that we only had enough parts to make one chair, Patrick and I got to work and were very glad that we'd decided to skip over the glue this part instruction as we had to take it apart and start again at least once.
Not feeling like I was really contributing much to the chair assembly I decided to switch my allegiances and joined Dennis to work on the table. It started out looking a little wonky but we convinced ourselves it would all be fine once it was screwed together and thankfully once we were finished it did look pretty good, even if i do say so myself.
We may not have been able to do everything that we had hoped but even with just one chair and the table we left Ms P with the perfect set up to do one of her favourite past times, puzzles. After a quick cuddle with the dogs we said our goodbyes and headed off.
