Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
As promised, a short run with no hills this week. We popped Rebecca and Ellen's GoodGym cherry tonight with a power hose, upper body circuit and a time trial.
After a quick warm up and lots of ID showing (looking forward to more coach runs and missions happening inside Southwark), we got on our way. A pacey run up the Rye high street took us to Peckham platform, an art gallery and community space used to engage locals, particularly children through art. We were met by Tim, the gallery manager who had just tried out the pressure cleaner for the first time. Even he wondered why he hadn't used it before. Though there was turn taking, Michael got to work on the high bits whilst the rest of us used buckets and cloths to try and get rid of the 'skid marks' (not those kind, just wheel and feet marks, silly).
Last week, we promoted correct box sorting of toys so this week, our persistence in cleaning shone through. It's safe to say that we'll be back to help the Platform get even more sparkly clean as they've got lots going on this summer.
After a mini circuit to get warm again, triceps, biceps and glutes worked out, we ran down to the Rye to complete another time trial.
Amazing effort from everyone after the stop start running we had done previously. The course record was equalled so we'll be coming back to this in April to see if it can be beaten! A gentle jog back and a quick stretch and we were ready for a pint.
After many promises of a macaroni cheese scotch egg, we were let down as it had been taken off the menu. A St. Patrick's day eve pint of Guinness topped off a lovely evening.
3.2km and a few happy runners.
See you next week team.
