The first Sunny Sunday in a series of, had Jay and James meet outside Barnardo's Head Office in Barkingside. They ran through Barkingside Park making their way to the litter picking task on the banks of the River Roding.

On arrival, gazing across the river with the sun blazing, all seemed idyllic, however once the beaming light adjusted itself: plastic bags, metal cans, dirty pants, PPE were all unearthed. Ironically James spotted a "Be kind to our Earth" bag, which was later used to stash our buried... junk. No treasure, apart from passing the lovely artwork by the famous street artist, Phlegm.

In total we managed to gather three bags of litter between the two of us and reported two acts of fly-tipping to Redbridge Council; not to mention we run 7km, walked 1km while litter picking, plus James cycled to the task. Try-athletes... we shall Tri. ;)

Please join us for next week's task where we shall be running to the sunny banks of Roding Valley Lake in Chigwell.
