Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

The thing with GoodGym is that word soon gets around about what we get up to and people want to find out more. So it was that GoodGym were invited to send representatives to the Norwich Sunday Assembly to talk about the work of GoodGym as part of their September meeting which was on the theme of 'mutual benefit'. The Sunday Assembly is, like GoodGym itself, a national movement with an active presence in Norwich. Meeting monthly the motto of the group is to 'live better, help often, wonder more' - all things which Goodgymers seem to like doing too! As Hitch our group leader was unable to make the date of the meeting, Bill grandly stepped up to the task of speaking in front of the Assembly, putting some time into preparing a presentation which reflected the various aspects of our group and which gave mutual benefit. Going through all the run reports to glean suitable photos was an enjoyable task and Bill realised how pleased he was to be able to show off photos of his GoodGym 'family'! Turning up at the venue to give the talk, Bill, accompanied by Katy who acted as time keeper and general back-up, was warmly welcomed. After a singalong (a regular part of Assemblies), Bill did what he likes doing best - talking to people! He did a great job of conveying the enthusiasm of GoodGym and by the end of it there were a few people sounding as if they might be signing up to future runs! After a game of 'human bingo' (finding people at the meeting who fitted a box on your bingo card eg 'loves chocolate' or 'goes running' ) which was a great way of chatting to people, we had another singalong after which we all tucked into refreshments and home made cakes and had the chance to answer more questions about GoodGym. Well done Bill!

It was lovely to meet you both. Bill's talk was perfect. Glad you enjoyed our assembly. Can't wait for my first run now to become part of it. And remember - Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More.
