Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Leo
This morning JC and I met just outside Mrs M's house in Southwark promptly and were quickly let in and pointed in the direction of the divan to be disassembled and reassembled in the next room.
The mattress was easy enough to shift, but it would have been tricky to get the bed in its whole form out the doorway and into the doorway immediately next to it so we determined that the headboard would at the very least need detaching.
We quickly ascertained that we would need a flat headed screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the whole thing together and all that could be found in her house was a Phillips screwdriver but, quite the handyman, JC suggested that a knife would do the job and he wasn't wrong. A very effective makeshift screwdriver that had the headboard off in no time 🍴
Then it was just a case of unclipping the two parts of the bed base to be shunted into the next room and following a rapid reassembly it was looking all good. It transpires that was the extent of the help needed so we wished her well and headed out pleased with our efforts.
It was only after that we were outside it transpired that this was JC's 100th good deed and I was woefully unprepared to mark the occasion beyond offering to write this report. Given how quickly we had wrapped up and both had a bit of time to spare we went around the corner for a celebratory drink (coffee and orange juice respectively) in a particularly sun-drenched spot, where we bemoaned the lack of travel opportunities this year and JC educated me about French wine. Thanks JC and well done on your impressive accomplishment! 💯 🎈 🎉
