Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
Sevan's last task of the day started in the daytime and finished in the dark. Of course, he'd forgotten to pack his head torch 🤦
Mrs M becomes breathless easily so finds it hard to look after her garden. She had 2 tasks for Sevan today, to cut the grass and to clear the brown fern leaves from her flower beds. The grass was her priority and as she brought some angled, long handled shears into the garden, Sevan asked:
Oh. You want me to cut the grass with those?
Indeed she did ✂️
Sevan got to work, trying to find the right technique to cut the grass. It was quite long, thin and flattened. Something that a lawnmower would have handled with ease. After a while, he got into the flow of cutting a patch to the sound of silence, then raking it and finding any remaining long stalks. It was pretty hard to keep track of where he'd already covered.
Time was passing slowly. It felt like Sevan had been there for ages, especially as he was stooped over the shears, but less than an hour had passed. It had been getting darker through the mission and as the grass cutting was finishing, it became properly dark, with Sevan was working 'neath the halo of a streetlight, casting it's dim glow into the garden.
Sevan couldn't see if there was any more long grass, so switched to scooping leaves from the flower beds for the last 15 minutes, as much by touch as by sight. By the end, he managed to fill one large bag with cuttings and leaves.
Like Sevan, Mrs M wasn't able to see what he'd done to the garden. Maybe that's for the best 🤷. In the naked light of the morning, she'll see.

Ms M. Expresses her profound appreciation to Sevan and the entire GoodGym family for delivering such an outstanding support to help improve her health and wellbeing. She says the support means a lot to her and she is very grateful. She says Sevan has been amazingly patient and understanding despite the challenges of the garden that day, he was practical and kept on with his great work. He whole heartedly executed the work. I am thankful. The Proactive Care Team of Woodberry Wetlands Primary Care Network (PCN) are appreciative of GoodGym’s work in supporting the elderly in our community to have improved health and wellbeing by providing these priceless services.
