41 people ran between 3-7k to help a community hub.

It all came together on this weeks GG run. It was warm clear evening, loads of people came to join in, we had 3 big meaty tasks and we had 2 great runs on the way home. Nice.

Record Number

A record 41 people showed up at Somers Town Community Centre on Wednesday to run and do good. Our task was a 1.5k run up the road to Rochester Square- helping out an ambitious project on a former squat and derelict garden centre. Its being transferred into a community growing, learning and meeting space. Run by a group of creatives they are keen to create a co-operative- running Workshops, food growing areas and Spiritual healing sessions- offering opportunities for everyone in the community

Bubble wrap covered in papier mâché!

Despite a few deviations from the correct route (sorry y'all) we arrived in Rochester raring to get stuck in. We broke into 3 teams. 2 headed out into the garden, to shift some big sacks of soil and clear up a disused area, while the other team stayed indoors- helping to cover a large wall of bubble wrap in papier mâché.....

The job was large and we hit it hard- carrying loads of organic matter to the large compost area and making a big pile of rubbish to get rid of.

Here's more from GoodGym Runner Jemma;

After some furious lifting and sticking, and with several of us now covered in a fresh coat of wallpaper paste, we split in to two groups ready for the run home. Those of us on the longer run took an initially busy route up towards Camden Round House, causing some confusion amongst the unsuspecting pedestrians as over 20 runners descended upon them! Once we reached Primrose Hill we increased the pace a bit and then put in one final push for a fantastic sprint finish, arriving back at Somers Town only to discover that the other group had been and gone! Good effort everyone!
