Another visit to Ms G to carry on where we left off last week, painting the hallway. But no, Ms G's friend had been over in the week and finished painting the walls and ceiling in the hallway and we were greeted by a sea of shimmering lavender, as well as a slightly poorly Ms G and her absolute sweetie Titi, a miniature Yorkie.
Fortunately for us there were still the door frames to wash and paint and fortunately for Ms G, my partner-in-grime today was Fi, who most certainly has legendary status when it comes to painting missions.
Before we could get cracking, we agreed that rather than just moving the piles of clutter in the hallway, it would be good to get these boxed up and put in the cupboard, to give Ms G and Titi some more space to walk through the hallway.
Then, whilst I set about washing down the door frames with a diluted sugar soap mix, tackling years of grime from cooking and smoke, to set these up ready for painting, Fi got straight into applying an overcoat to the door frame that I had painted last week giving it a lovely white glistening gloss - yes you could indeed call it a Shimmer Frame!
After 90 minutes we were done, with one door frame now fully painted and four more ready to be painted.
The hallway is now looking great and will be even better once the remaining paintwork has been done.
All the while, we had lovely chats with Ms G, with her and Fi comparing their welsh ancestry, and lots of attention to and from Titi - a most photogenic little mutt I think you'll agree.
Combining this with a 5k run together on a bright sunny Sunday morning, it turned out to be a top morning!
Thanks Fi for the extra Titi photos!
